There is no doubt that lots of gamers greatly anticipate the release of GTA V, the newest installment in the GTA series. It is a very successful game from Rockstar that probably excites lots of gamers since its announcement last year. Though its predecessors are proven successful, there are mistakes that should be avoided in order not to ruin the gaming experience. Here are some of those mistakes.

Much Emphasis to Technicality

Yes, it is common that in this world where advanced technology plays a great role that people get lost to their design’s loveliness. This is true in the modern world of gaming where the other aspects are less prioritized over style and a great example of this is Battlefield 3 where the only good thing about the game is the new engine. It’s natural that technological advancements be used in the games, but Rockstar should not prioritize this in order to impress people.

Less Environmental Improvements

It is considered that the San Andreas installment is the well-trodden and most expensive of all GTA games as no other game or environment have captured people’s imagination and because the setting is very familiar of GTA’s environment. Therefore, it is imperative that the developer don’t use the same setting or city as part of enjoying the game is new environment exploration and familiarizing them.

Predictability

A specific formula was followed by GTA games before where the protagonist enters the city where he will be involved in organized crime due to being inherently bad. He will kill many people as he ascends to the throne. While this formula is a tested one and has taken a different touch of late, it remains similar or even the same to the past GTA games. If you are a gamer, you would not want the formula to be overhauled drastically just to keep the video game fresh, considering you’ll be back to the same city as before.

Realism is Prioritized Over Fun

It is true that GTA was an amazing video game, but it was very restricted when it comes to player expression and freedom due to lack in customizing the character, general freedom and purchasable items. Breaking into a military installation in order to hijack a tank is a longtime memory where the thing is common as death and gunfire. There are some ridiculous elements in the succeeding GTA games, but it felt believable every time you play in the environment of the GTA. The missions in the GTA series were exciting, but as you progress in the game, they become tiresome.

Story is Sacrificed For Scope

In the present gaming environment of open world video games, the trend in developing games is that the story is less prioritized over collectibles and bonus missions that don’t mean anything. A great example of this is the Skyrim which contains fewer stories but is overwhelmed with lots of dull tasks. Rockstar is always focused in the story of their games, giving 40 narrative hours before you can roam the environment. The developer should maintain this course or they will fall into trap where other games have already got themselves into.
