There are some gamers who felt sorry for the CoD franchise as it is the epitome of everything that’s wrong in the world of gaming. There is no doubt the call of Duty is a powerhouse in the gaming industry, with lots of players who would not normally play video games to join the fun, multiplayer in particular. It has become the victim of massive sales and success.

Call of Duty’s multiplayer is the key that led to the wallets of gamers: the game progressed from a great beginning and then the innovation slackened due to the consequences of success and progress there is no need to change and progress. Innocence was lost and it was replaced by addictive systems of customization and perks. Lots of gamers think that this aspect wouldn’t be lost and there will still be a way to restoring the old and keep the new.

Unlike other franchises in the world of video gaming, Call of Duty has resisted to hug progress. It is a fact that lots of gamers are better in this game as they kept getting better with all weapons and perks level ups, while other people are struggling to contain the massive advantages, helicopter strafing and preventing bombing runs.

The lack of upgrades and perks, simple weapons, bombing and helicopter runs as well as the complicated classes which you have to balance, means that players killed on equal footing. Playing with the best players is sometimes annoying as they will kick your butt, but the bottom line here is that you have fun and enjoyed every moment in the game.

Modern video games were hooked to the upgrade mechanism which keeps players invested in titles they’re playing. The more you play, the better you become better in leveling up. This aspect of gaming keeps gamers on playing the same game as they don’t want to begin from scratch in another multiplayer game when they’ve invested much time on a certain game that they enjoy. It makes the addition of multiplayer to other video games a waste when it comes to resources and time.

The addictive parts of these shooter video games are the presence of features such as occasional DLC mode or map and added content. Due to these features, lots of video game developers have gotten people hooked to a single game without the urge of looking elsewhere.

Just when you think that you’re getting better in the game, there comes the next title and they have to begin again from scratch. Here is a pandemonium of racing to become better again for you know that all your online friends will be playing the new installment.

Casual gamers and those who do not have enough time in playing the Call of Duty are the big losers in this situation. The multiplayer mode is corrupted to become a game zone for only those who have the luxury to play this game. The answer to this problem in the aspect of enjoyment is simplicity and purity, and not those upgrades, perks, customization and complicated classes. It is important that Call of Duty should cater on both aspects.
