With a name like Silent Hill you know it’s not safe for, well, anybody.

Hey nice Thriller ending there. Thanks for the review, I agree about the controls.

if you don’t mind, like some people do, get the epsxe ps1 emulator from emulator zone. you do have to figure out how to set it up, as it is kind of tricky. find the bios. set up a few graphics plugins you can also get from zone, and try different ones til it looks right. google *get your rom* and get the ps1 iso. your only able to download 1gb of games per day. if you have a xbox 360 controller w/ usb, you can set it up with xpadder (tut on youtube) to use as a pc controller. and there you go.

You had to have played it when it first came out and play them in order. It had some really good ideas that I consider genre defining. The heartbeat sensation implemented when damaged was brilliant. Between that, the darkness and the incredible sound design, it just bombarded you with a constant sense of unease.
Each future installment it was continually refined, yes, but the first one started it all and brought some great innovations for that time. No other game did it as well as SH1.
