The long guessing is finally over of who will be the cover athletes for the NBA 2K13m, as 2K Games has finally confirmed the suspicions of everyone when it released the final art bot.
The teaser where an image containing a tarantula, roses and two griffins, which looks like a movie poster of David Lynch than anything, linked with NBA 2K. But a lot of sports fans have already determined that the image represents Blake Griffin of the LA Clippers, Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunders.
All these basketball players said that it is an honor for them to be selected, considering that Michael Jordan has been the cover athlete in the NBA 2K for the last two years. Unlike the 2K12 cover where the developer has released three covers separately featuring Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird, the 2K13 cover put three athletes together on the cover box art. 2K Games has not released any information about the changes that they have introduced in the NBA 2K13, making players to anticipate more about the video game.
The cover is also a sign showing the good fortune of the NBA, even though potential lockouts are threatening and that the expectation of who among the NBA athletes will be the cover of the video game series remains anticipated as before.
The video game has sold five million copies during its last installment that featured the legends, Jordan, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird. This year, the model athletes mentioned above will be at one cover and the video game is going to be released worldwide and domestically in the early part of October 2012.
The cover athletes of the NBA 2K13 show that the league is in good direction. Some of you may dispute the selection of the cover athletes in this year’s NBA 2K video game, pointing out that although Durant, Rose and Griffin are great basketball players, they may not be the best when it comes to their respected positions in their teams right now, especially with the presence of mid-20s basketball players such as Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook and Lebron James who are possible in winning the particular place in the covers of the 2K Games video game. Now that the cover athletes are revealed, what gamers will think about is the new features which will be included in the game.
