yeah the cod4 engine is based on the cod2 engine which is based on id tech 3
id tech 4 is the ddom engine
so i guess you could say they have the same parent engines but definately not the same engine

I think you are dead wrong man. CoD4 uses the CoD4 engine or whatever it is called. ETQW uses the Doom 3 engine now called id tech 4.
