It is only that there are lots of foreign video games developers that make better games compared to them. It’s not that Americans develop bad video games as it isn’t the case. Actually, there are lots of great American made video games, only it’s that foreign video game developers seems better in making video games.
First is the developer from Remedy. Despite developing some video games in the United States, they’re actually a firm in Finland. The successful franchise of Max Payne was developed by Remedy Entertainment. The video game is about the life of a man who finds his daughter and his wife murdered and he went out to search for hose behind the crime. Both games in the Max Payne series are well-received by the gaming community due to the innovative storylines. After Max Payne, the developer released the video game Alan Wake which focuses on a man who went to Brighton Falls with his wife, but finding out that his wife was missing. Again this video game was praised by the industry due to its good storytelling. It also provided gamers with a new way on how to defeat enemies by burning way darkness before players start harming someone.
Kojima Productions is another video game developer who has already proven itself in the video game community with games like the Metal Gear series. Looking at Japanese video games, you will see that the characters are portrayed with absurd styles of hair and with sparkling big eyes. But in the Metal Gear game, the characters are not portrayed in a way that every Japanese video game is depicted as Kojima Productions do it the American way. Every character in the game such as Naked Snake, Solid Snake and Gray Fox are all Americans.
Kojima is well-respected for his video games as he understands that innovation is a great way on how to improve them and it doesn’t have to stay the way they are.
Another developer who came from outside the United States is Ubisoft. This developer is the one behind great video games such as the Assassin’s Creed video game franchise developed in Canada. Ubisoft Montpellier is a French video game developer who created Rayman Origins which blew both gamers and critics away. Beyond Good and Evil is another video game created this French developer.
It is not that Americans are not good in creating video games, as there are lots of great and amazing American video games and they still provide top games for lots of people to enjoy. What this article tries to say is that there are foreign video games developers who know the world of games and the industry more compared to their American counterparts. These developers are trying to fix and do what they need to do for the industry, while their American counterparts are ruining it with video games with high age ranking but aimed at children.
