    Well I disagree that its a shit excuse for a a game but i do agree that it shouldnt be play competitively

    I don’t think it’s the way CC2 wanted the game to be played, otherwise they wouldn’t have designed such a large variety beautiful attack animations for each character. The problem is like you mentioned. Substitute is too easy, so every time you go for close range combat you are putting yourself at an insanely high risk of taking big damage. It’s bad game design, and hopefully they fix it in a sequel, so that melee combat is more legitimate. .

    It’s because it’s actually easier to KnJ a grab, or initial attack in a combo string, than it is in the middle of certain moves/assists. If you’re assist is hitting them, and you try to grab, it will be extremely easy for them to KnJ the grab, since it’s a less strict timing to get out of.

    LOL i know EXACTLY what your mean. They always seem to block the whole assists attack but as soon as i throw a punch they KNJ the hell out of it no mater how i time it.
