It is no doubt that RE had a tumultuous past. The fourth installment of this video game is a critically acclaimed title, but RE5 is proven to be its biggest letdown. Now, Capcom is leading gamers to the sixth installment of the video game which has our main protagonists with their own campaigns. But lots of players are not convinced with this title due to some reasons, and here are some of them:

In this sixth outing of the franchise, gamers will experience running the streets of China which is filled with hordes of zombies, flipping cars into crumpled heaps and jumping from a helicopter as it explodes or you will be mauled by a monster. With these scenes, you will probably ask, what happened to the survival horror theme of the franchise? It seems that the importance of the survival horror theme of the video game has become zombified, and the only resemblance to the classic RE moments is only through Leon Kennedy. Yet even the hunting atmosphere and moody setting, gamers will be forced to do countless gunning and running situations.

Each campaign in the RE6 is designed by Capcom to be cool and varied, but it doesn’t justify its pure action video game in the third person genre that ex member of S.T.A.R.S. and zombie killing veteran Chris Redfield engage in. Environment are brightly lit, abundance of ammunition and lots of B.S.S.A. soldiers help you a lot. Tension is not brought by the newly introduced monster J’avo but due to their sheer quantity. Simply put, the levels of Redfield are RE franchise’s antithesis. It seems that the implementation of RE6 is merely an evolution and continuation of the gameplay that you experience in RE5, but the core is that this latest installment breaks away further from the basics of the roots of this series.

Seeing as Chris and Leon as oldies in this installment, Jake Muller will be a new face on the series. Quick, brash and an attitude of being a tough guy, Jake is designed to be the diverse campaigns’ middle-man. Physical combat plays well in the game as players will rely on the punches and kick flurries replacing the trigger happy finger.

Tight controls are needed in order for these mechanics to succeed, and it is comparable to an old woman on the streets with her shopping trolley, meaning that gamers will surely have tough and rough ride.

Gamers who have already laid their hands on the demo of the game on Xbox 360 will tell you that it contains visual stains from anything in between of the important gameplay sequences and cutscenes. If you are going to hedge your bets on the demo, you will only be disappointed about it. Lots of gamers want to like the RE6, but they are worried about the game. There are still lots of time for Capcom to straighten things, but this impression of gamers and poor demo on Xbox 360 means that confidence in this game would be low.
