There is no doubt that FPS games are very popular nowadays. Lots of gamers enjoy playing them but most of them also want to look for something new, envelops and pushes the gameplay just like Borderlands. Here are some of the FPS games that need to rest in peace in order to give way for something new.

Halo

This game is among the biggest FPS titles out there that is an Xbox consoles exclusive. This video game is formerly owned by the Bungie group and is currently on the turf of 343 Industries. This title has helped a lot in bolstering the image of the Xbox consoles. And since the release of the original Halo, other titles of the franchise were also developed for the fans. This November, Halo 4 is due for release and it would be the 7th in the video game series. It is an amazing game, but many gamers are already tired of fighting against or with the Covenant and of using Master Chief in battles.

Battlefield

This video was present in almost all platforms of video gaming and one of the most awesome titles in the series in Battlefield 2. But this awesome game was tainted by the follow-up Bad Company as it seems to be a rushed finish just to cater the wants of the fans. The launching of the Ba Company II has redeemed the glory of the Battlefield II with the introduction of new elements. And although the 2011 released Battlefield 3 is also a fun video game, it contains some flaws.

Call of Duty

This video game series is both playable in third and first person and is around for almost a decade now. It started in WWII, changed to the modern warfare and now the Cold War. With any game version that you decide to play, the gameplay is similar. This franchise contains nine major video games, three modern, two Cold War era and four WWII settings. Several add-ons were also developed in order to make it last longer. It is a very popular game that the servers crashed when the Modern Warfare II was released. Every title in the series have similar premise and it is to fight evil factions and survive for the world’s betterment.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon

This is a fictionalized military force video game that was around for more than a decade now. The setting of the game is futuristic but with similar premise. Gamers will experience doing some covert operations and you will be called the Ghost team. Though the missions aren’t identical in every game, they are similar but in new locations. Many of the titles released under the franchise follow the previously released games. But the similarities of all the titles released under the franchise makes the game very boring as you need to do similar missions with better skills and weapons in different locations.

The aim is not to become unfair with the mentioned video games. It is that almost all FPS games are similar to one another.
