I think I figured out the truth behind this schoolhouse from hell:
It’s actually the result of Dr. Robotnik going back and getting his teaching degree after he and Dr. Eggman were trapped in the time purgatory (where time doesn’t exist, says Eggman) at the end of Sonic Generations, for he’s now using it in conjuction with a fake evil Sonic to torture kids like Thomas by luring them to the schoolhouse he built in the purgatory.
