It wasn’t WotW in my opinion. It bent the book over and raped it sideways, and what we saw in the cinema was the result. It made a good film, but it wasn’t War of the Worlds…

I share your view on this. Hollywood had the budget in 2005 to make an epic true to the book but the rushed it with fucking overrated Steve Spielberg, Tom ‘mad’ Cruise and that little shit Dakota FANNY screaming all throughout the movie. Totally ruined H G Wells version of the book.
