Asynchronous processors (such as the one on the HTC Sensation) actually do follow the principle of ‘powering down’ one of the cores. While one core runs at its maximum freq., the other uses only the amount the application requires. HTC used async processors to increase battery life in the Sensation (something they managed successfully).

You don’t need dual core to play this game just a better GPU. I have this game on my Droid X and iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch and it plays much better. All in all this game still plays good on Snapdragon CPU for the most part on my HTC Droid Incredible.
